VinFast Collaborates with Sony to Introduce RIDEVU Entertainment Service in VF 8 Electric Cars

VinFast Auto, the Vietnamese automotive manufacturer, has revealed its partnership with Sony to integrate Sony’s online entertainment service, RIDEVU, into its VF 8 electric car model.

RIDEVU, crafted by Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), will be incorporated into VinFast’s VF Connect Prime package, augmenting the in-car entertainment options for U.S. consumers. Owners of the VF 8 can unlock access to RIDEVU’s extensive repertoire of over 2,000 movies via an over-the-air (OTA) software update to version 9.6.1.11.

The service, available free of charge for a year, grants users unlimited streaming of a curated selection of films, with the added benefit of unlimited replays for up to 100 movies within the subscription period. Additionally, customers can indulge in premium titles by redeeming credits, or opt for direct purchases or rentals through the RIDEVU app.

RIDEVU distinguishes itself with its user-friendly interface, allowing seamless synchronization and streaming across various screens, including the in-car displays and external devices. Notably, the Screen Manager feature empowers users to exercise full control over playback on all connected displays, even offering parental controls directly from the vehicle’s dashboard.

To ensure a safe in-car experience, drivers can only access movies through the RIDEVU app on the central screen while the vehicle is stationary, such as during charging or brief stops. Conversely, passengers can leverage the Screen Manager functionality within the RIDEVU Companion app to enjoy content on their smartphones or tablets while the car is in motion.

The compatibility of RIDEVU spans across multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, Android TV, Apple TV, and Linux, ensuring a seamless transition across a diverse array of devices.
